Meet Lindsey, our Creative Director and one of three talented Interior Designers at Carbon 6 Interiors. She's the mastermind behind our cohesive brand image and creates stunning, functional spaces that blend sophistication with practicality. With an eye for sleek natural stone and modern design elements, Lindsey brings both creative vision and meticulous attention to detail to every project.
Lindsey Swanson, Interior Deisgner + Creative Director
What's your role, and how would you describe it to us?
I am the Creative Director and one of 3 Interior Designers. My role as a Creative Director is to make sure our brand image, i.e. logos, brand colors, print and digital materials and content are consistent as well as which projects are shared with the public as we design an array of design styles varying from home to home, we also have a classic Carbon 6 Interiors interior design style that is unique to us that we like to show off to the public most. In my role as an Interior Designer, I am responsible for creating functional, aesthetically pleasing spaces that align with the client's needs, preferences, and lifestyle.
My role involves space planning, selecting furniture, materials, lighting, and color schemes, and ensuring that the design is both practical and aligned with the client's vision. My goal is to enhance the quality of interior environments while balancing functionality and aesthetics.
Knowing every day is likely different can you walk me through what a typical day looks like for you?
My day is typically filled with a client meeting or two, site visits and walk-throughs, checking out countertop slabs or tile in the showrooms, and most importantly, creative brainstorming for current and future projects.
If your design style was a cocktail, what would it be?
If my design style was a cocktail, I'd name it "The Marble Edge". The sleek natural stone sinks and backsplashes I lean toward, combined with modern design elements gives it a refined yet edgy feel, perfect for a sophisticated cocktail with a sharp, clean finish.

What's the most unusual object in your work space or home, and what's its story?
I have a solid brass giraffe that is 2' tall on an art ledge in my great room. I inherited it when my grandmother passed away. She collected all sorts of interesting sculptures and objects.
If you could design a room for any fictional character, who would it be and why?
I would love to design a room for Hermione Granger. She is the most intelligent wizard from Harry Potter so she would probably be able to think of a spell to make each design idea come to life on the spot.
What's your go-to "brainfood" when tackling a challenging project?
Hu Cashew Butter dark chocolate or Stead Caramel Crack chocolate.
Describe your perfect Saturday /day off:
I am going to answer for each season, because I love all seasons so much, it is too hard to choose. Going to a fall pumpkin patch or apple orchard with my kids on a 65-degree sunny day. A humid 85-degree sunny summer day on the lake with no wind. A sunny 30-degree day on the slopes with fresh powder with my husband teaching our kids how to snowboard. The first real weekend of Spring planting flowers in my planters watching my kiddos play outside after a long winter.
What's the most memorable client request you've ever received?
We had a client who wanted her home to be "a sticky house". At first, we weren't entirely sure what that meant—our client explained that she wanted her home to be the home that her kids and their friends spent time together, the home where guests would feel comfortable and not want to leave—hence "sticky". We understood the assignment and delivered. To this day it is still such a cherished "sticky" home.
If you could instantly learn one new skill, what would it be?
How to apply wallpaper, or how to use plaster.
If you weren't in interior design, what would your alternative career be?
I would be a veterinarian or Graphic Designer.

"Low-Key Luxe"
If you could swap roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
Morgan, it would be fun to select furniture for a day!
What's your guilty pleasure when it comes to home decor items?
Always finding new ones I love and buying them even though I don't need them.
