Meet Gage Hofstad:
Project Manager at Carbon 6 Interiors
Meet Gage Hofstad, our Project Manager at Carbon 6 Interiors. He's the vital link between our designers, clients, and the trades - ensuring every project moves forward with clear communication, careful coordination, and a commitment to keeping the vision (and budget) on track. With a grounded, team-first approach and a genuine passion for the craft of building, Gage brings calm and clarity to every challenge that comes his way.

Gage Hofstad, Project Manager
What's your role, and how would you describe it to us?
I am a Project Manager. I would describe my role as the middleman between the designer, the client, and the subcontractors. My role is to ensure clear communication between all the parties involved — to help make the designer's and client's vision come to life while tackling any challenges that may arise, all while making sure those visions stay within budget.
Knowing every day is likely different can you walk me through what a typical day looks like for you?
A beauty of this job — and one of my favorite aspects — is that every day is truly different, and you never know what that day will throw at you. To sum it up, a typical day involves collaborating with the Interior Designer I'm paired with on my projects to check in on current standings. From there, it's meeting with clients either in our studio, a design showroom, or on site to help bring their vision to life. Once the day slows down and I'm at my desk, it involves communication with our construction managers and the subcontractors to make sure everyone is on the same page — solving any unique challenges that have come up, or working within our project management software to keep all stakeholders aligned and making sure our client, their budget, and their vision remain the top priority.

Note: Gage just moved back to MN from Colorado and it shows!
Describe your perfect Saturday.
Let's go with a perfect Saturday in the summer — because it makes putting up with the long winters always worth it. A perfect Saturday starts up north in "cabin country" at my family cabin. It starts slow: sleeping in a bit, enjoying a coffee on the deck, and then from there it's all about enjoying the lake and the weather. For the most part that looks like a day on the boat or relaxing on the dock with family and friends, then finishing the day off with a grilled meal and watching the sunset, and capping the night with a bonfire by the water or playing card games on the screen porch.
If you could instantly learn one new skill, what would it be?
I would love to learn any of the trades or home DIY skills. My wife and I are recent first-time homeowners, and of course we have a ton of ideas and projects we want to tackle — but not always the skills, or maybe the skills but not at the level I'd want. Then you add working on custom homes every day alongside skilled designers, and now I have even more ideas I want to bring home. I'd love to be able to tackle any of these dream projects with the skill and confidence to get them done right.

If you weren't in interior design, what would your alternative career be?
If I could choose any career, why not dream big — and maybe a little (a lot) unrealistic. I would go back to what 12-year-old me wanted to be, and sometimes still find myself dreaming about today: an NHL player for the Minnesota Wild. Growing up playing hockey in Minnesota, I feel like that alternative career fits pretty much every other 12-year-old hockey player in the state. And honestly, it's hard to think of a more realistic alternative — because being in the luxury custom home industry has been my dream career ever since I quickly realized the NHL wasn't in my horizon.
Share a "hack" you've learned that makes your job easier:
Being new to the team, the best tip I've learned is a staple you always hear: never be afraid to ask questions and lean on your team. Carbon 6 Interiors is a great team environment, and everyone is always happy to answer a question or offer their perspective on how to handle a situation — whether that's asking Curt how to use the coffee machine so I'm always ready for the day, or asking a fellow Project Manager about navigating a unique challenge. Every question truly makes my job easier.

Ready and waiting to drop in to your custom interior project
Gage's steady, people-first approach is evident in every project he touches — from keeping a complex build on schedule to making sure each client feels heard and cared for at every step. His energy and curiosity for the craft make him a natural fit for this team, and we're thrilled to have him.
