The Sculptured Noir:

Curated Curves and Textured Warmth

Nestled in Plymouth's Hollydale neighborhood, The Sculptured Noir represents a home where every detail has been carefully considered to create spaces that feel both sculptural and inviting.

Roman Clay: The Foundation of Warmth

The defining feature throughout this modern two-story is the extensive use of Portola Paint's roman clay finish. Applied to both walls and ceilings, this material brings an organic, textured quality that softens the contemporary architecture. In the great room, a stunning 12-inch radius ceiling creates visual interest and flow, while the same finish wraps the curved fireplace - adding warmth without the typical top coat for a more natural, tactile feel.

The designer extended this treatment to the primary suite, where an uplit roman clay ceiling creates a serene, spa-like ambiance. Even the lower level bar features the signature finish, creating a cohesive design thread throughout the home.

The Art of the Curve

Curves define The Sculptured Noir's personality. The great room's fireplace features a striking curved face with a floating hearth by Amsum & Ash that draws the eye and creates a natural gathering point. This sculptural element is echoed throughout - from the curved light fixture in the stairway to the Kelly Wearstler fixtures in the primary bath, along with the curved sink basin and bathtub.

These thoughtful curves soften the home's modern lines and add an element of artistic sophistication that feels both current and timeless.

Bronze: The Signature Metal

Urban bronze and antique burnished brass finishes unify the home's aesthetic. In the kitchen, bronze hardware and plumbing fixtures complement the crackly glass cabinets and textured roman clay walls, creating a cohesive foundation for the home's metallic palette.

In the primary bath, the Melange Elongated sconce in antique burnished brass features an elegant alabaster shade with metal banding that creates beautiful visual interest. This sculptural piece pairs beautifully with Kohler's Composed faucets in vibrant brushed bronze (a softer, warmer gold) and knurled hardware.

The powder bath continues this bronze narrative with Kelly Wearstler fixtures, Kohler plumbing, and roman clay walls that maintain the warm, organic aesthetic.

A Home That Feels Different

The Sculptured Noir seamlessly blends contemporary luxury with warmth and character. Against a backdrop of Sherwin Williams 'Shoji White,' the darker wood tones, bronze accents, and sculptural curves create a home that's both striking and unique.
