Modern Minnetonka Two-Story

We had the opportunity to design a Modern two-story home in Minnetonka, MN for some pretty exceptional clients. This home is detailed with distinctive design elements, rich walnut tones, gold metal accents, and plenty of natural light. The modern interior selections provide a clean backdrop for this family’s fun artwork and special decor to shine. We love that every detail in this warm and inviting home reflects the personalities and characteristics of our clients.

Starting with the great room; the center of attention is the linear fireplace faced with rich walnut paneling and flanked by walnut floating shelves with storage cabinets below painted “Railings” by Farrow & Ball. Gold Clemente Wall sconces spotlight family pictures and whimsical art pieces.

Notice the custom wall paneling with an inset fit perfectly for the mounted TV. This wall paneling aligns so perfectly with a thoughtfully curated bookshelf that covertly opens to a (Surprise!) home office.

This kitchen is truly the centerpiece of our client’s home. With custom cabinetry and center island painted “Railings” by Farrow & Ball, Silestone's "Calacatta Gold Suede" 2” thick quartz countertops, Thermador appliances, clean white subway tile backsplash, and two beautiful antique brass finished “Eugene” pendant light fixtures.

The Eugene pendant lights from Southern Lights match the kitchen cabinet hardware and faucets, the antique brass accents in this kitchen POP against the navy tones.

Our client’s paid special attention to organizational details and placements of their kitchen appliances and cabinetry. For example, the fridge was placed to the left close to the stove, pantry and countertops, while the freezer remains separated to the right for optimal convenience when preparing a meal. The cabinetry also has special organizational shelving for trays, spices and hosting accessories!

Next to the kitchen, a working pantry with ample prep and storage space. Note the two bricks in the backsplash of the pantry. Our clients kept these two original bricks as a nod to the previous homeowners and home. We love this little detail.

As you probably know by now, we love a fun powder bath, and thankfully so do these homeowners! The juxtaposition of the wallpaper with the gold and black marble Cespar light fixture make this powder feel full of pizazz all year long.

Heading upstairs, the loft has a bright and relaxing atmosphere-an accent wall that has a wallcovering of a fun library bookcase, a real built-in bookcase, and an accent Bossa Nova Pendant from Southern Lights, this is the perfect place to sit and read or start a puzzle!

A vaulted ceiling soars in the Owner’s bedroom adorned with a white oak beam and black & white chandelier. The gray accent grasscloth wallpaper provides texture and warmth to this relaxing space.

The marble floor in the Owner’s bath sets a serene scene and is paired with custom his & her walnut built-ins, a free-standing tub, and a spacious walk-in marble shower. The walk-in closet, and attached laundry room offer the utmost convenience to this Owner’s suite as well.

This laundry room couldn’t get any more adorable with it’s custom glass paneled door and custom cabinetry painted “Sandbank” by Sherwin Williams.

Last but definitely not least, the lower level. With an athletic court (disco ball included!), billiards game space, and a mini kitchen/bar overlooking the media lounge area -- this lower level is sure to be the coolest hangout spot on the block! The kids are set for sleepovers in this lower level–it provides ample space to run around, and extra bedrooms to crash after the fun!
